'Killers In Glitter' by Keanan Duffty
KILLERS IN GLITTER (released December 2012) is a compilation of Keanan Duffty`s music, from his 1985 Water Sport release to his work with Slinky Vagabond in 2007.
The tracks trace a musical journey of classic 80`s analogue electro pop and twenty first century rock & roll. Many of the songs were written or co-written by Duffty with the exceptions of two covers: the David Bowie classic Boys Keep Swinging and the Bauhaus goth anthem Bela Lugosi`s Dead.
Duffty began playing music at age 14, first with the teenage punk band Sordid Details and then with new romantics Wonder Stories. He was inspired by the rebellion of the Sex Pistols and the sartorial style of David Bowie. In the mid 1980`s, whilst Duffty was a student at Central Saint Martins in London, he secured a management and recording deal with Falcon Stuart, then manager of Adam Ant and X-Ray Spex.
In the early 1990`s Duffty based himself in New York City and recorded the track I Am An Alien with an accompanying video featuring Amanda Lepore.
By the mid 2000`s Duffty began to write, record and perform with his musical heroes in the band Slinky Vagaboond, which features the combined talents of Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols), Clem Burke (Blondie), and Earl Slick (guitarist for David Bowie).
