Kate Pierson Unleashes Record Store Day 7" A-Side + Announces New Tour Dates

Kate Pierson - iconic voice and founding member of the B52s, punk, new wave, genre-defying band, has released her debut solo record Guitars and Microphones, marrying party rock, psychedelia and socio-political punk. Released to widespread critical acclaim, Kate’s songs are rife with girl group wit, drama, and rejection of stereotypes, and her solo offerings are big songs with bigger meanings.

Offering fans several new chances to catch her live, Kate will release a special limited edition red vinyl 7” for Record Store Day on April 18th. As a special early treat, she has revealed A-Side “Better Not Sting The Bee (Steve Osborne Remix)” with PAPER Magazine today. We encourage you to post + share!

“I'm having a vinyl revival after buying a wind up RCA Victrola at a local auction.” Kate explains. “The 78s my father left me sounded miraculous on this incredible record player. So I was determined to have some vinyl come out with the release of Guitars and Microphones - my first solo album. I'm very excited to offer an exclusive red 7" single "Better Not Sting the Bee" remix by Steve Osborne for Record Store Day. This is a great day for independent record stores and vinyl lovers who know that vinyl is eternal! “

Produced by Tim Anderson (Ima Robot), Guitars and Microphones features Nick Valensi(The Strokes) on several tracks, with songs co-written by Sia, who executive produced the album. The album is available now on iTunesAmazon and Barnes & Noble.
